John Tress has been a practicing trial lawyer for 21 years. He began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney with the Eleventh Judicial Circuit for Miami-Dade County. During his time as a criminal prosecutor, Mr. Tress quickly advanced through the Misdemeanor and Felony Divisions trying numerous cases as the lead attorney. He was ultimately assigned to the Sexual Battery and Aggravated Child Abuse Unit where he handled very sensitive cases involving the most vulnerable victims in the community.
Prior to joining the Bounds Law Group, Mr. Tress was a shareholder with a well-respected litigation firm in Central Florida. For nearly 17 years, he represented physicians, hospitals and urgent care clinics throughout Florida in medical malpractice and licensure matters. He now devotes his practice to representing injured patients and their family members in cases involving medical negligence, wrongful death and catastrophic injury.
Mr. Tress graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelors in Political Science in 1996. He subsequently obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1999. He has received an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating in Martindale Hubbell for his professional excellence.
